The War of 18 Holes Miniature Golf

The course itself is a real stunner. Landscaped with lush greenery, shady trees, and surrounded by a garden of azaleas, hostas, rhododendrons, and many other flowers, golfers will enjoy the beauty while they play. There is a covered bridge, waterfall cave, and winding paths. Kids and adults will love it.

Each hole contains a historical fact about Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry’s role in the victory of the Battle of Lake Erie and the war in general. This battle was pivotal both to Put-in-Bay’s increased visibility to the rest of the country and as a turning point to the war. The War of 18 Holes makes learning about such a crucial event in the island’s history a lot of fun!

Perry’s Cave and Family Fun Center

Perry’s Cave and Family Fun Center is just what it says it is, the center of fun on Put-in-Bay. Everyone from families to bachelorette parties flock to this sprawling complex to enjoy everything from a rock wall to cave tours. 

Perry’s also offers package deals for their attractions as well as group discounts to make this a tad more affordable. Most individual tickets only cost between $8 – $10. But if you plan on spending the day here, a combo package is the way to go.

Perry’s is located about a little more than a mile from downtown Put-in-Bay. However, some other nearby Put-in-Bay attractions include Heineman’s Winery, South Bass Island State Park, and the Chocolate Cafe. The Put-in-Bay Tour Train also makes regular stops there.

The Antique Car Museum exhibits the islands love for vintage vehicles. Founded by local car enthusiast Charles “Skip” Duggan, this free attraction houses the islands oldest car and includes an impressive collection of memorabilia.

There may not be any Put-in-Bay bars or restaurants on site, but there is a snack shack! Grab a bit to eat or some ice cream to refuel and then get back to the fun as soon as possible!

Gemstone Mining offers visitors a thrilling hands on experience. So purchase bags of rough mix from the gift shop and wash water over the sand to discover actual gemstones and fossils for an insiders glimpse into the ecology of South Bass Island.

For a healthy dose of competition, race against your friends or yourself in the challenging Fort aMaze’n. This maze is a real doozy! An observation tower looms over the maze where friends can cheer or jeer the racers.

Perry’s Cave

Make sure to visit the centerpiece of Perry’s, Perry’s Cave. Out of all the things to do in Put-in-Bay, Perry’s Cave is a must! This unique limestone cave is one of the reasons Put-in-Bay is so special. During the Battle of Lake Erie General Perry discovered the cave in 1813. Located 52 feet underground, Perry’s cave is home to a rare underground lake, which was much needed by Perry’s troops during the war.
