South Bass Taphouse

The South Bass Taphouse is one of the newest addition to Put-in-Bay. This friendly neighborhood pub opened in 2017 and is located right downtown on Catawba Avenue.

A relaxed vibe and friendly bartenders welcome you to the Taphouse. Live entertainment, parties, and plenty of sports on TV are on the menu. This is also one of the few spots on the island opened all year long. A favorite of locals, the South Bass Taphouse is also a hit with the summertime crowds.

Besides hosting nights for the Super Bowl, World Series, and the other sporting events year round, the Taphouse provides residents to stellar musicians like Matt Goodrich. Named the Cleveland Area’s Favorite Local Artist in 2017, Matt makes for a great soundtrack while you enjoy craft brews and cocktails.

They also have ping pong tables so get ready for a game or two against your best friends and your new best friends. There is nothing wrong with a healthy dose of competition.

The South Bass Taphouse Neighbors

South Bass Taphouse is near the best attractions of downtown Put-in-Bay. Put-in-Bay has long been a favorite summertime destination on Lake Erie. This little island is home to amazing fishing, watersports, and boating. The dining and bar scene also rivals the best in the country.

Just in the few blocks surrounding South Bass Taphouse, you can enjoy Irish pub fare at Hooligans, or excellent mojitos at Mojito Bay. Try decadent crepes at Old Forge, and some of the best live music in the entire region at Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grill.

Summers on Put-in-Bay

Summer days are full of families strolling along the avenues, shopping and enjoying delicious food. The park at the center of the Village, DeRivera Park, provides a wonderful spot for picnics. Kids love going for a ride on Kimberly’s Carousel, a vintage ride with hand painted animals located across from the park. A tasty treat is also close at hand at the Put-in-Bay Candy Bar.

When the sun sets, the party starts. Weekends are usually jammed packed with revelers spilling from one of the many bars lining the streets. South Bass Taphouse is an excellent place to start off your night. Enjoy a ice cold glass of beer and a game of ping-pong.

After enjoying the friendly atmosphere at South Bass, listen to live music at the Round House Bar, or enjoy a more intimate setting at the Red Moon. There’s always so much to choose from.
